College football schedule week 1: LSU Tigers football vs. FSU Seminoles football

The LSU Tigers and Brian Kelly shocked a lot of folks last season as they upended the Alabama Crimson Tide, won the SEC West, promptly lost to Texas A&M in humiliating fashion, and then got humbled by the Georgia Bulldogs in a surprisingly high scoring SEC Championship Game. Oh, and then they THUMPED Purdue in a bowl game.

While LSU was far from perfect, the Tigers were very good last year. They demonstrated that this is a program that consistently has an abundance of potential. And they’ve got a high ceiling again this season. Will they have a low floor again? Will this be a team of extremely exciting wins and incredibly deflating losses? Then again, they won 10 games a year ago, so maybe there isn’t much to complain about.

As for FSU, the Florida State Seminoles are trying to start the 2023 season off with a strong win over an SEC foe. FSU also demonstrated plenty of impressive potential a season ago and also the capacity to lose some odd games here and there. Because they almost did lose to LSU.

The Seminoles are working to get back to the top of the ACC and also regain relevance nationally. They’re on the path to doing just that. Despite a three-game losing streak in the middle of their season, FSU (like LSU) won 10 games last year. And they’re looking to build upon last season’s success as they move forward this year.
