With the 2023 Mississippi State football season just around the corner, two of the Bulldogs’ stars have earned a spot on the 2023 PFF preseason All-SEC team.

As the 2023 Mississippi State football season is just about here, two key Mississippi State Bulldogs stars have made their way onto the 2023 PFF preseason All-SEC team. Both Nathaniel “Bookie” Watson and Lideatrick “Tulu” Griffin are getting plenty of respect from the folks over at Pro Football Focus.

So, go ahead and add that to each of their respective lists of 2023 preseason honors.

Both Bookie Watson and Tulu Griffin have been stars for the Bulldogs and have a combined seven years of playing experience. With that much experience (as well as much talent as they each have), Watson and Griffin are poised to be great leaders for the Bulldogs this year.

As MSU heads into 2023, Watson is fresh off of a stellar 2022 campaign during which he racked up 113 total tackles, the second most on the team (and in the SEC). That puts his career total at an impressive 242 total tackles (to go with 11 sacks) over 45 games.

As such, Watson ended up on the preseason All-SEC Second Team list.

While Watson is great on defense, Griffin has been an impressive and dynamic threat on both offense and special teams. He’s excelled as a returner and has scored touchdowns on kick returns in both of the past two seasons. On top of that, Griffin caught 40 passes for 502 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns a year ago.

Griffin made it to the All-SEC First Team list thanks to his special team skills.

Now, as Mississippi State rolls into 2023, the Bulldogs are looking to build upon all they accomplished during their nine-win campaign in 2022.

Watson and Griffin will likely be key contributors for the Bulldogs this season. And if they can help MSU improve upon what it did a season ago, expect even more accolades to be hurled their way.
