Mississippi State football has never played these Big 10 teams

The Minnesota Golden Gophers do have a home-and-home series scheduled with Mississippi State football, but they haven’t met yet
Maroon is a really good color. Just a truly good color. And that’s something that both the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Mississippi State Bulldogs can agree upon. So, when the Mississippi State football team does get a chance to meet up with the Golden Gophers, we’re going to see a lot of maroon.
Slated to meet starting in 2026, the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Minnesota Golden Gophers are going to face off in Minneapolis in just a few seasons.
But as it stands right now, the two teams have never met.
Minnesota has a pretty rich history and the Golden Gophers have been able to claim several national titles and also a Heisman Trophy Winner.
But unfortunately, despite all of that historic success, Minnesota hasn’t seen much greatness in recent years. Minnesota’s last national title happened over 50 years ago and the last Big Ten title that the Golden Gophers can claim happened in 1967.
The eventual meeting between these two programs will feature teams that are vying for national respect and recognition. They’re underdogs and wear maroon. And that’s pretty great. That 2026 road trip can’t get here quick enough.
