This interesting mug mishap sure adds even more fun and banter to the rivalry between Mississippi State football and Ole Miss.

It’s not often that Mississippi State football fans and Ole Miss football fans can get together to share a laugh, but they’re able to do it right now. This time, folks who love the Bulldogs and those poor misguided souls who root for the Rebels are able to get a chuckle over a newly created mug from Starbucks.

Starbucks rolled out a college-themed coffee mug which was supposed to feature an artistic rendition of iconic imagery from the University of Mississippi’s campus.

But, uh, there was a bit of a mix-up with the Ole Miss mug.

Somehow, some way, the folks behind this Starbucks design placed a Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field (that is draped in red and blue) right in the midst of a mug meant to feature Ole Miss. It’s incredible. Bizarre, sure, but also incredible.

Check this out.

What an ugly mug.

Well, aesthetically speaking, it’s actually a really cool design. It’s a pretty good piece of art, to be completely honest. Whatever graphic designer worked on this put some really cool touches here. They worked hard!

They messed up on a really important detail!

So, how on earth did this happen?

Well, it’d be fun to speculate that a Mississippi State fan found their way into infiltrating the Starbucks design team and subsequently pulled some strings to get the image of the Mississippi State football stadium on the Ole Miss mug.

That’d be fun.

A more likely explanation is that someone simply unfamiliar with Ole Miss and Mississippi State made the mug.

That probably is what happened. It’s not as fun as some sort of design team spy for the Bulldogs, but it’s a far more likely scenario here. Regardless of how this mug happened, the mistake is starting to go viral on social media.

Now part of me actually kinda wants one of these mugs.
