The Mississippi State football team should keep an eye out for for these South Carolina Gamecocks

After meeting up with the LSU Tigers, Zach Arnett will get to take his Mississippi State Bulldogs to South Carolina just a week before hosting Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide. That’s sure to be fun!

The timing of this game is tricky.

Arnett and the Bulldogs can’t afford to overlook any of these Gamecocks as they hit the road for South Carolina

Keep an eye on these three South Carolina Gamecocks

  • Spencer Rattler – The Gamecocks weren’t always able to get the most out of former Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler, but he did show up at some pretty pivotal moments and could be dangerous this coming season. Rattler threw for over 3,000 yards, but he only had 18 touchdown passes against 12 interceptions. He’s got the potential to be dangerous, but he’s also shown some limitations.
  • Marcellas Dial – Marcellas Dial demonstrated his ability to be a dynamic and terrifying force for opposing quarterbacks. As a key leader for South Carolina’s defense, Dial has shown that he can pick off errant passes and rack up plenty of tackles. Heading into his senior season, Dial caught three interceptions last year and put up 45 tackles. He’s got valuable experience and is definitely someone MSU will need to account for.
  • Antwane Wells Jr. – Clearly the go-to receiver for Rattler and the South Carolina offense, Antwane Wells Jr. was very productive a season ago. Expect him to command plenty of attention this season after Wells finished 2022 with 68 catches for 928 yards and six touchdown receptions.

Again, the Bulldogs can’t afford to overlook anyone on South Carolina’s roster. The Gamecocks are building a decent accumulation of talent and as they showed against Clemson and Tennessee, there’s a lot of potential for success for this South Carolina program.
