No. 3: Mississippi State football vs. Ole Miss Rebels

It feels as if the Egg Bowl is pretty much always an odd sort of meeting. This rivalry game can yield the most infuriating and bizarre results for both teams involved and this particular contest can be remarkably agonizing to keep up with, even if your favorite team is winning.

And coming off of how last year’s Egg Bowl went, it’d be fair to expect that the Ole Miss Rebels will be intent on having the opportunity to infuriate Mississippi State football fans and get a win in Davis Wade Stadium.

Here’s to hoping that this doesn’t happen.

Lane Kiffin is a dynamic recruiter who retools his roster pretty thoroughly on an annual basis thanks to the transfer portal. And so, while he’s not investing as much in player development the way some other teams might, he’s found a way to get talent on his team at a variety of notable positions.

Zach Arnett found a way to stymie Kiffin’s offense and the Bulldogs halted Ole Miss’ rushing attack in ways that nobody else was able to do (until the Texas Tech Red Raiders were able to get some time studying how MSU won before meeting up with the Rebels in Houston).

Here’s to hoping that this happens again.
