The 2024 Mississippi State football schedule isn’t fully set just yet, but we now know which SEC foes the Bulldogs will be playing next season.

Wednesday evening, the Southeastern Conference revealed the eight matchups that each member team’s 2024 SEC football schedule will have. That means that while the 2024 Mississippi State football schedule isn’t entirely set just yet, we have some clarity as to what the 2024 Mississippi State SEC schedule will shape up to be.

And the Bulldogs got a rather interesting slate of opponents for next year. The Bulldogs will face the following SEC teams in 2024:

  • Arkansas Razorbacks
  • Florida Gators
  • Georgia Bulldogs
  • Missouri Tigers
  • Ole Miss Rebels
  • Tennessee Volunteers
  • Texas Longhorns
  • Texas A&M Aggies

That’s not the worst list of SEC foes ever, but the road games are pretty rough, all things considered.

Here’s who the Bulldogs get on the road next season:

  • Ole Miss
  • Georgia
  • Tennessee
  • Texas

Again, it’s worth noting that this is far from being the worst possible slate of SEC teams ever. Things could be much more arduous next season for Zach Arnett and the Mississippi State football program, but that road slate sure is brutal for the Bulldogs.

It’s impossible to really know just how good some of these teams will be next season. It’s fair to assume that programs like Georgia and Tennessee could be very intimidating opponents. And while Texas is talented, it’s hard to know just how good the Longhorns will be given how much that program has struggled to maintain success since 2010.

As for Ole Miss, that’s the Egg Bowl and that’s a contest that often feels as if it could truly go either way in any given year.

dark. Next. Should the SEC football schedule follow the Big Ten’s lead?

But that isn’t a fun slate of road games at all. That’s just part of the fun of playing in the SEC though. You get to face some of the toughest competition possible. And that’s some pretty tough competition.
