The 2024 Mississippi State football recruiting class just picked up another recruit. Zach Arnett and company sure are having a solid week.
Hey look, Zach Arnett just got another recruit. The 2024 Mississippi State football recruiting class continues to pick up commitments from in-state talent as the Bulldogs earned another commitment on Wednesday.
It wasn’t that long ago that Fred “Fat” Clark announced his decisions to leave the Ole Miss Rebels and commit to the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Now, Arnett and company have picked up a commitment from Brookhaven’s very versatile Xavier Gayten. That sure is one way to build even more recruiting momentum within the state of Mississippi.
Xavier Gayten announces intent to join 2024 Mississippi State football recruiting class
Gayten weighs in at 6-0 and 190 pounds, which is a solid frame to work with at either running back and safety. And, well, he apparently plays both of those positions (and apparently impressed MSU’s coaches with that versatility, as noted by Paul Jones of 247Sports). It’s worth noting that fact could lead to more playing opportunities once he arrives in Starkville.
While Gayten isn’t exactly highly recognized by any recruiting service, it is worth noting that the Ole Miss Rebels apparently also offered the versatile recruit, according to 247Sports. And it’s always fun to take recruits away from the Rebels.
In addition to the offer from Ole Miss, Gayten has also received offers from the Southern Miss Golden Eagles and Prairie View A&M out of Texas. Tony Hughes is listed as the primary recruiter for Gayten.
Mississippi State’s 2024 recruiting class is now up to nine commitments. Four of those recruits hail from the state of Mississippi.
Arnett still has work to do, but it’s exciting to see more and more commits pour in. Hopefully this momentum continues and the Bulldogs continue to build an even more impressive class.
