In all honesty, the only reason Jimbo Fisher is still prowling the sidelines in College Station is his massive buyout.
Would Texas A&M really pay $86 million to fire Jimbo Fisher? If this season is anything like his last, they just might. A&M gave Fisher a massive payday with the expectation of building a championship-winning program.
But the Aggies have, instead, been mediocre for much of his tenure. A 5-7 campaign in 2022 turned mediocrity into disaster. If things don’t turn around quickly, don’t count out A&M’s boosters from finding a way to make a move.
