Mississippi State Bulldogs run the state in the 2022-2023 sports year

After winning last night’s Governor’s Cup, the Mississippi State Bulldogs can claim wins over the Ole Miss Rebels in all three big sporting events.
So, let’s take a trip down memory lane just to commemorate this sports year.
November 24, 2022: The Mississippi State Bulldogs leave Oxford, Mississippi with an Egg Bowl victory.
The sports year always kicks off with Mississippi State Football. The Bulldogs had an excellent year on the football field this 2022 college football season.
The icing on the cake? It was most certainly leaving Oxford, Mississippi with the Golden Egg.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs defeated the Ole Miss Rebels, 24-22, in one of the most exciting finishes of the 2022 season.
January 7, 2023: Mississippi State Basketball defeats the Ole Miss Rebels at the Humphrey Coliseum.
Moving on to the basketball court where the Ole Miss Rebels made their visit to Starkville on January 7th.
This was a hard-fought win for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, but the Bulldogs still managed to win by a score of 64-54.
This win was the first SEC victory the Mississippi State Bulldogs had in the 2022-2023 college basketball season.
February 18, 2023: Mississippi State Basketball leaves Oxford with another win vs. Ole Miss.
The next victory over the Rebels might have been the most difficult.
On a Saturday in February, the Bulldogs traveled to Oxford to take on the Ole Miss basketball team for the second matchup of the season.
This game was back and forth all the way into overtime where Chris Jans and the Bulldogs managed to leave Oxford with a 69-61 victory.
April 14-16, 2023: Mississippi State Baseball takes two of three from Ole Miss at Dudy Noble Field.
After losing game one of this series, the Diamond Dawgs had to bounce back and take two in a row from the Ole Miss Rebels and they did!
In front of a record-setting crowd, the Bulldogs won the last two games of this series and yet again defeated Ole Miss in baseball.
April 25, 2023: Mississippi State Baseball wins the annual Governor’s Cup at Trustmark Park.
And to top it all off, the Mississippi State Baseball team ends the matchups vs. Ole Miss with a win at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi by a score of 2-1.
