Mississippi State Baseball: How to watch tonight’s Governor’s Cup
By Landon Young
The Mississippi State baseball team is headed to Pearl, Mississippi to take on the Ole Miss baseball team in the annual Governor’s Cup.
This will be the fourth matchup between Mississippi State baseball and Ole Miss baseball this 2023 college baseball season.
Tonight’s game will have its first pitch at 6:00 p.m. CT/7:00 p.m. ET. The Diamond Dawgs look to bounce back after a heartbreaking series loss this past weekend vs. the Auburn Tigers.
The matchup between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Ole Miss Rebels will be played at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi.
Chris Lemonis and the Mississippi State baseball team already took 2 of 3 from the Rebels during Super Bulldog Weekend a couple of weeks ago, but winning tonight would be the icing on the cake.
The Diamond Dawgs have shown spurts of excitement, especially from their batts, in the first few games of the year. Pitching is where the Bulldogs have struggled most of this season.
Chris Lemonis is the first and only coach at Mississippi State University to win a national title, but if he doesn’t get it together soon, he might be looking at the door.
He believes this team is stacked full of talent, and they can make their way back to Omaha, but the Bulldogs have not proven that they are of that caliber this season.
The Ole Miss Rebels are 21-19 in this season. The Rebels are 3-15 in conference play.
The Rebels are coming off a series loss vs. the LSU Tigers last weekend where they were swept in all three games.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs are looking to win their third game vs. the Ole Miss Rebels this season.
