Mississippi State Football: Schedule and predictions for the last six games of the 2023 season
By Landon Young
The Mississippi State Football team is set to take on another exciting season this upcoming fall.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs have a first-year head coach in Zach Arnett after the sudden passing of Mike Leach.
Many Bulldog fans believe Zach Arnett can continue the momentum that Mike Leach had going and get the job done for the Bulldogs in year one.
What does the job look like? Well, let’s take look at the last six games of the 2023 Mississippi State Football schedule.
October 21: Mississippi State Football at Arkansas
Prediction: It will not be easy to go on the road and win this game, but I think we have Arkansas’ number after last year’s dominating performance.
Give me the Bulldogs to win 34-24.
October 28: Mississippi State at Auburn
Prediction: Oh boy… Hugh Freeze’s return to the SEC. I can assure you, Freeze will bring havoc to the SEC, but I don’t think it will all happen in year one.
I do think he might have the edge over State because this game is at Auburn.
Auburn wins, 28-17.
November 4: Kentucky at Mississippi State
Prediction: Why wouldn’t I just pick the home team? The home team has won this battle for the last 10 years.
The home team wins again, 30-23.
November 11: Mississippi State at Texas A&M
Prediction: I really like our chances vs. Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies. It seems as if the Bulldogs have had his number ever since he joined the SEC.
The Bulldogs win a big game on the road, 27-24.
November 18: Southern Miss at Mississippi State
Prediction: The Golden Eagles return to Starkvegas. I like Mississippi State to win but not quite as large of a margin of victory as many would think.
Mississippi State Football wins, 41-27.
November 23: Ole Miss at Mississippi State
Prediction: Well, you should know by now that I would never pick us to lose against Ole Miss. Plus, I truly believe we can get the job done again this year.
I like the Mississippi State Bulldogs to win a bit more handily than last year, 30-14.
