Mississippi State Basketball vs. Pittsburgh: The life of being a Bulldogs fan
By Landon Young
The Mississippi State basketball team was one of the last four teams in the NCAA Tournament, and they played against the Pittsburgh Panthers to be the true No. 11 seed to face off against the Iowa State Cyclones.
Unfortunately, the Mississippi State Bulldogs came up short by just one point. The Bulldogs lost to the Panthers by a score of 60-59.
Tolu Smith needed to do more, but the Pittsburgh Panthers prepared well.
The Pittsburgh Panthers came into this “First Four In” game knowing that had to do one thing to win this game… Shut Tolu Smith down, and that they did. The Panthers double-teamed Tolu Smith from the tip-off of tonight’s basketball game.
The Pittsburgh Panthers’ run late in the second half was the turning point.
Specifically, whenever the three from the timeline went in to take a 6-point lead. It felt as if the Mississippi State Bulldogs were out of reach at this moment in the game, but it was not finished yet.
Mississippi State Basketball has not been good at last-second shots all season long.
All season, the Mississippi State basketball has not been able to put a game away whenever they have the ball last. Well, here we are again. The Bulldogs come up just short.
It hurts knowing that Shakeel Moore’s three went in with 6 seconds left on the clock.
Shakeel Moore was the last guy to have a good look at the game-winning shot, but he missed the game-winner. To make matters more unfortunate, Shakeel Moore drilled the three he took right before that shot was missed.
If you are new to this, this is the life of being a Mississippi State fan.
It does not matter what sport, who the Bulldogs are playing, or what field, court, or diamond they are playing at. This is the life of being a Mississippi State fan. Stress, anger, and high blood pressure.
