I have said it before, and I will say it again, Chris Jans is making a difference at Mississippi State University. The Mississippi State basketball program will be different (in a good way) because of the energy, talent, and hard work that Jans has brought to Mississippi State basketball.

The latest on what Chris Jans has done to make Mississippi State basketball: The Mississippi State Bulldogs have landed four-star recruit, Josh Hubbard, to their 2023 recruiting class. Hubbard originally committed to in-state rival, the Ole Miss Rebels. Interestingly enough, the Rebels announced their new head coach today, Chris Beard.

Chris Jans is not playing around when it comes to building next year’s recruiting class. Here is where the Bulldogs stand right now (247 sports):

⭐⭐⭐⭐★ Josh Hubbard – Madison-Ridgeland Academy (Madison, MS) – 5-10 / 180 – PG

⭐⭐⭐★★ Gai Chol – Greenforest Mccalep Christian Academy (Decatur, GA) – 7-0 / 235 – C

⭐⭐⭐★★ Adrian Myers – Massanutten Military Academy (Woodstock, VA) – 6-7 / 185 – SF

⭐⭐⭐★★ Jaquan Scott – Salt Lake Community College (Salt Lake City, UT) – 6-8 / 200 – PF

NOT RATED – Lerenzo Fort III – Howard College (Big Spring, TX) – 6-4 / 195 – SG

The Mississippi State Bulldogs, of course, have some work to do, but Josh Hubbard is a guy on the court that attracts other high school basketball stars to want to come play for Chris Jans and the Mississippi State basketball team.

The NCAA Tournament has not begun, but here is a look at what first-year head coach, Chris Jans, has accomplished in 2022-2023:

The Mississippi State basketball team finished the college basketball regular season 21-12 (8-10).

The Mississippi State Bulldogs won one game in the SEC Basketball Tournament this past week vs. the Florida Gators.

First-year head coach, Chris Jans, has come to Starkville, Mississippi, and immediately made a difference. Chris Jans does not plan to stop there, but the first-year head coach plans to win some games in this year’s NCAA Tournament. The Mississippi State Bulldogs were not expected to make the NCAA Tournament this year. Many Bulldog fans expected this year’s team to be right back in the NIT.

If Jans, continues to add guys like Hubbard to his 2023 recruiting list, expect to see more of the Mississippi State Bulldogs in March.
