Mississippi State Baseball vs. Lipscomb (Game 2): Start time, TV info, and more

Mississippi State's head coach Chris Lemonis has a tough task ahead of him this week. He wants his team to play good baseball, but he's love for the Bulldogs to save their best baseball for the NCAA Tournament, not the SEC Tournament.chris lemonis

The Mississippi State baseball team is back at home to take on the Lipscomb Bisons baseball team in a home series. Mississippi State baseball will play three games this weekend versus the Bisons. Today’s game (Game 2) will have its first pitch at 2:00 p.m. CT/3:00 p.m. ET. The Diamond Dawgs look to bounce back after dropping two games at the Frisco Classic last weekend.  The matchup between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Lipscomb Bisons will be played at Dudy Noble Field in Starkville, Mississippi.

Here are some notes that you need to know before watching today’s Mississippi State baseball game:

Mississippi State baseball is coming off a midweek win vs. Valparaiso.

The Diamond Dawgs are coming off a run-rule win vs. the Valparaiso Beacons at Dudy Noble Field. The final score was 12-2, and the game was closed out in the 7th inning.

Mississippi State baseball is working to bounce back after last year’s season.

Last year, the Mississippi State baseball team had one of the worst seasons in recent history. What made it even worse was the Diamond Dawgs were coming off winning a national championship the year before in 2021 when they defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores.

The good thing is it would be hard for the Diamond Dawgs to have a worse year than they did last year. The Mississippi State baseball looks to turn things around from last year, and once again, make it back to Omaha.

Chris Lemonis expects to be right back in the conversation for National Champions.

Chris Lemonis is the only Mississippi State coach to ever win a national title at the university. His winning mindset should put the Diamond Dawgs right back in the conversation. One thing the Bulldogs need to fix this weekend is pitching. The batts have seemed to stay hot for every game this season.
