The Mississippi State basketball team is back at home to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks in an SEC basketball matchup. Today’s basketball game will tip off at 8:00 p.m. CT/9:00 p.m. ET. The matchup between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the South Carolina Gamecocks will be played at the Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Mississippi.

There are three players in tonight’s game that you should pay attention to throughout the regulation. These players are two Mississippi State basketball players and one South Carolina player.

Here are the three players to watch tonight vs. the South Carolina Gamecocks:

Hayden Brown (Forward – South Carolina Basketball)

The South Carolina Gamecocks‘ forward, Hayden Brown, has shown spurts of greatness this 2022-2023 college basketball season. If there is one player on the Gamecocks basketball team that the Bulldogs must be on the lookout for, it is Hayden Brown. Brown dropped 16 points vs. the LSU Tigers in their last SEC basketball victory, and he had 18 points in the Gamecocks’ win vs. the Ole Miss Rebels. The Mississippi State Bulldogs need to be ready and prepared to defend and block out the South Carolina Gamecocks’ starting forward, Hayden Brown.

Tolu Smith (Forward – Mississippi State Basketball)

Whenever Tolu Smith has a great game for the Bulldogs, the Mississippi State basketball team typically wins. Smith has been the leading scorer for the Bulldogs all season, and tonight, I do not expect things to change tonight. Rebounds are where Smith needs to begin to step it up toward NCAA Tournament season.

Shakeel Moore (Guard – Mississippi State Basketball)

Shakeel Moore has begun to emerge as Mississippi State basketball’s best guard on the court. Moore’s ability to see the floor is what makes him so dangerous. He is great in fast break situations, and tonight the Bulldogs will need to score in transition early and often.
