Mississippi State Baseball vs. Southern Mississippi: Start time, TV info, and more

The Mississippi State baseball team is on the road to Pearl, Mississippi to take on the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles in a midweek baseball matchup. Today’s baseball matchup will have its first pitch at 6:00 p.m. CT/7:00 p.m. ET. The Diamond Dawgs look to continue their momentum after winning their second series of the season vs. the Arizona State Sun Devils. The matchup between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Southern Miss Golden Eagles will be played at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi.

Mississippi State baseball won its second series of 2023.
The Diamond Dawgs took 2 of 3 from the Arizona State Sun Devils this past weekend. The batts were hot for the Bulldogs all weekend long, but pitching showed some questions in game one. Although the Diamond Dawgs dropped one game, it was important for them to take the series, and they did come away with 2 out of 3.
Mississippi State baseball finished last in the SEC in the 2022 college baseball season.
Last year, the Mississippi State baseball team had one of the worst seasons in recent history. What made it even worse was the Diamond Dawgs were coming off winning a national championship the year before in 2021 when they defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores.
The good thing is it would be hard for the Diamond Dawgs to have a worse year than they did last year. The Mississippi State baseball looks to turn things around from last year, and once again, make it back to Omaha.

Chris Lemonis is the only Mississippi State coach to ever win a national title at the university. His winning mindset should put the Diamond Dawgs right back in the conversation. One thing the Bulldogs need to fix this weekend is pitching. The batts have seemed to stay hot for every game this season.
