The Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team pulled off a huge series win this past weekend.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are coming off a huge series win. Arizona State Sun Devils came into this weekend as an undefeated college baseball team that was looking to make it far in this year’s tournament, and they still have a good chance of doing so. The Sun Devils seemed to be the favorite going into this weekend’s series, but the Diamond Dawgs proved everyone wrong.

So, why did Chris Lemonis and the Diamond Dawgs need this series’ win? Because people were starting to become concerned with whether or not this team would return to college baseball as one of the premier programs. I think this weekend’s series win made people believe again.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs basketball team has a really great shot at making the Big Dance.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs only have two more basketball games left on the regular season schedule, and those games will take place this week. The Bulldogs face off against the South Carolina Gamecocks this Tuesday at the Humphrey Coliseum. This game is huge because, after Saturday’s win vs. a Quad 1 opponent (Texas A&M), the Bulldogs have a really great shot at making the NCAA Tournament. A win vs. the South Carolina Gamecocks would almost certainly place them in the Big Dance.

What’s next for Mississippi State baseball?

The Mississippi State baseball team will face off against its in-state rival, the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles, on Tuesday night at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi. The Southern Miss Golden Eagles have had an excellent college baseball program over the last decade, and Tuesday night’s matchup will not be an easy one for the Bulldogs.

Midweek games are difficult because you want to save your best pitching for the weekends, but it is always nice to come away with a win versus a team within your state.
