The Mississippi State baseball team is back at Dudy Noble Field to start its 2023 college baseball season vs. the Virginia Military Institute Keydets. Today’s baseball game will have its first pitch at 3:00 p.m. CT/4:00 p.m. ET. The Diamond Dawgs look to bounce back after a disappointing 2022 college baseball season. The matchup between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Virginia Military Institute Keydets will be played at Dudy Noble Field in Starkville, Mississippi.

Mississippi State baseball finished last in the SEC in the 2022 college baseball season.
Last year, the Mississippi State baseball team had one of the worst seasons in recent history. What made it even worse was the Diamond Dawgs were coming off winning a national championship the year before in 2021 when they defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores.
The good thing is it would be hard for the Diamond Dawgs to have a worse year than they did last year. The Mississippi State baseball looks to turn things around from last year, and once again, make it back to Omaha.
