The Mississippi State Bulldogs will take on the Tennessee Volunteers in an SEC home matchup tonight.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs basketball team will face off against the No. 9 Tennessee Volunteers at the Humphrey Coliseum at 6:00 p.m. CT/7:00 p.m. ET.

Both teams are coming off tough losses. The Mississippi State Bulldogs fought until the end but came up short against the Auburn Tigers on Saturday night. The Tennessee Volunteers played the Kentucky Wildcats and led the game early, but fell short in the end.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have lost their last two SEC matchups and could use a bounce-back game tonight with an upset win over the Tennessee Volunteers.

Dak Prescott throws for four touchdowns and runs for one in Monday night’s playoff game.

Former Mississippi State Bulldogs legend, Dak Prescott, had one of the best games of his career on Monday night vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Prescott finished the wild card game 25/33 for 305 yards passing. He also ran in a touchdown resulting in five total touchdowns for Dak Prescott.

The Dallas Cowboys had not ever beaten Tom Brady in his entire NFL career, but Monday night was different. Credit to the Dallas Cowboys defense for shutting down any offense the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tried to produce. The defense finished with 1 interception, 2 sacks, and 5 punts on the night.

Mississippi State University adds an athletic director and football offensive coordinator in the same week.

Mississippi State has made two significant hires over the last week. One of which changes the entire Mississippi State athletic program. Mississippi State University has hired Zac Selmon from Oklahoma University as its new athletic director.

Zac Selmon was the Deputy Athletic Director at Oklahoma University. Selmon worked for Oklahoma University from 2015-2022 serving in different roles along the way.

I am excited about this hire, and I believe Bulldog fans should be too. I think Mississippi State Athletics are already headed in the right direction, and Mississippi State just hired someone to make them even better.

Secondly, the most important football hire has been made as the Bulldogs landed Kevin Barbay as the team’s new offensive coordinator.

Kevin Barbay was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Appalachian State Mountaineers during the 2022 college football season. Barbay spent the 2020 and 2021 college football seasons with Central Michigan as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
