Mississippi State made history last week as the Bulldogs staged the largest comeback in school history to defeat Louisiana Tech 35-34. While this is a victory in the win column, it is definitely a loss in the odds column and for fans who took Mississippi State to cover the spread.

Mississippi State was favored by 23 points, so, in the oddsmakers’ eyes, Mississippi State is 0-1 against the spread. The Over/Under was 52.5, so with the 69 total points, you were a happy Bulldog if you went with the over.

The Bulldogs will face a much tougher and familiar opponent in NC State on Saturday night. The series between these two teams is tied at 3-3. NC State cruised to a 45-0 win over South Florida using balanced rushing and passing attack.

The great thing about odds is who cares about yards, right. We just want the score and totals to fall our way.

NC State vs. Mississippi State Odds

According to WynnBet, NC State is a -1 (-110) favorite to upset Mississippi State +1(-110) at home. I know Bulldog fans will not be happy about being an underdog at home, but that is what happens when you struggle to put away a team and fail to cover the spread by a mountain of points.

The Moneyline is NC State -115 and Mississippi State -110, so not much money to be won in this matchup either way. The Over/Under is 55.5 (-110), and with the way these offenses can score, that is more than reasonable.

NC State vs. Mississippi State Odds Prediction

If I were betting on this game and removing the maroon and white shades, I would take NC State -1 and the Over. If you want a score prediction, check out Spencer’s NC State vs. Mississippi State Preview.

The difference here is NC State handled business against an opponent it was supposed to defeat and easily covered the 18.5 spread against South Florida. The Bulldogs gutted out the win in a less than impressive but historic fashion. The Bulldogs could prove me wrong, and I would be fine with that.
