Mississippi State football Mock Draft 2020: Predicting Bulldogs landing spots
Bulldogs standout Darryl Williams is one of many offensive linemen who will likely go in the first three rounds of this year’s draft. While he doesn’t have the NFL-ready look like some of the top-ranked linemen, he’s still got a ton of upside and could work his way into a starting job sooner rather than later.
The Raiders desperately need some help at offensive line, which would bode well for Williams if he’s able to take a few rookie lumps and learn on the job.
Williams can fit anywhere on the inside line, with good experience at both guard and center. Versatility usually equals playing time in the NFL, and the inside part of the Las Vegas line is good but has some questions right now, including a lack of depth. Williams is a smart player who has shown the ability to both run and pass block well.
Jon Gruden will likely be looking for some skill players and maybe a young quarterback with the early picks, but with three picks in the 3rd round, it’s certain the Raiders are likely to grab an offensive lineman with at least one of them if not more. Darryl Williams fits their needs nicely.
