Mississippi State football Mock Draft 2020: Predicting Bulldogs landing spots
Stephen Guidry finds himself in uncharted territory for the NFL Draft, in that he’s not looked at as one of the top picks at his position. The knock on Guidry is that he has the speed and the hands, but isn’t the best route-runner and can’t shake good man coverage.
Despite the questions, the Vikings will need to find some new targets for quarterback Kirk Cousins, and after losing the speedy Stefon Diggs in a trade with the Bills you can bet Minnesota will be on the lookout for some unpolished gems to add with their third-round compensatory pick.
Guidry fits what the Vikes love in a wide receiver, blazing speed and size. If he can be coached up on his routes he could easily become that WR3 who can blow the top off a defensive secondary and create big plays. He averaged 16.9 yards per catch in his two seasons playing for Mississippi State.
Depending on how things shake out in the first two rounds, Guidry could go sooner but should definitely be off the board by the time the 3rd round has been completed.
