Tem Lukabu reportedly leaving Mississippi State football for NFL

Joe Moorhead and the Mississippi State football team will need to find a new linebackers coach as the Bulldogs are reportedly losing Tem Lukabu to the National Football League.
Well, another assistant coach is leaving the Mississippi State football program. Joe Moorhead, the head coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs, is now tasked with replacing Tem Lukabu, according to a report by Steve Robertson of 247Sports.
Lukabu, like several other assistant coaches this offseason, have left the Mississippi State football team to pursue a bigger opportunity and advance his career forward. As has been the case with the other assistants leaving Starkville, Lukabu has an opportunity in front of him that would be just about impossible to turn down.
He’s got a chance to go back and coach in the NFL once more. Like Luke Getsy who moved to Starkville from the NFL and then returned this offseason, Lukabu has the opportunity to do the exact same thing.
It’s just unfortunate that MSU will be losing yet another assistant coach on the defensive side of the ball.
With Dan Mullen, it was seemingly impossible for the Mississippi State Bulldogs to keep hold of defensive coordinators. When Moorhead and his staff arrived in town, many were hoping that this trend of assistants for MSU’s defense leaving would halt.
And when Moorhead got Bob Shoop, the defensive coordinator of the Mississippi State football team to stay in Starkville, it appeared as if that trend was dead.
Turns out that it isn’t just yet.
As for where Lukabu is headed to, that’s not clear at the moment. Tyler Horka of the Clarion Ledger points out in his report that a “Mississippi State spokesman confirmed Lukabu’s departure but could not say which franchise Lukabu will be joining.”
So, it remains to be seen as to where Lukabu will be coaching next season. We just know that it won’t be in Starkville with the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
