The Mississippi State football team kept Jack Harris in Mississippi as part of the Bulldogs’ 2019 recruiting class.

To consistently win in the Southeastern Conference, it’s important to win the battle at the line of scrimmage. Having the best big dudes up front on both the offensive and defensive line is important. Joe Moorhead and the Mississippi State football team seem to believe that Jack Harris can be one of the best for the Bulldogs.

Harris, a Hattiesburg, Mississippi native, left his hometown and joined the Mississippi State Bulldogs. As part of the 2019 Mississippi State recruiting class, Harris is a three-star defensive end.

The Mississippi State football team beat out Southern Miss (the hometown team for Harris in Hattiesburg), Army, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Indiana, and Louisiana-Monroe for Harris’ signature and commitment.

It’s fair to say that Mississippi State is arguably the biggest program to have offered Harris a scholarship. And it makes some sense given that Harris still has some developing to do. He’s only 6-foot-2 and 227 pounds at the moment, so he might switch to outside linebacker in college or he could bulk up a bit once he gets onto campus.

Harris is another recruit who Moorhead and the Mississippi State Bulldogs’ coaching staff will look to develop into a future star. He’s got some good physical tools and that development as a player could certainly take place.

Brian Baker was the primary recruiter for Jack Harris, but Harris will still be in Starkville this coming Mississippi State football season, unlike Baker. Harris is one of three defensive linemen who was recruited by the former MSU defensive line coach before Baker took off for Tuscaloosa to join the Alabama Crimson Tide.
