Joe Moorhead and the Mississippi State football team are looking to bulk up the Bulldogs’ offensive line. Hopefully Brevyn Jones can do just that.

Marcus Johnson was sent out to represent the Mississippi State football team in its endeavors to pick up some key additions on the offensive line. That makes sense given that Johnson is the offensive line coach for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

During Johnson’s time on the recruiting trail, he was able to convince Brevyn Jones to sign with Mississippi State.

Jones is a three-star offensive tackle from Birmingham, Alabama who has played his career at Huffman High School there. The 6-4 and 261 pound tackle isn’t as big as some other offensive linemen, but he’s definitely got time to bulk up as part of the Mississippi State football team.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs were able to get Jones over UAB, Western Kentucky, North Texas, Louisiana, Texas State, as well as various other small football programs.

LSU and Vanderbilt were both apparently interested in Jones at some point and he in them, but neither the Tigers or the Commodores extended a scholarship offer out to Jones, according to 247 Sports.

Jones actually signed with the Bulldogs back during the early signing period in December and is already a member of the Mississippi State football team. He was one of 14 players to sign with State then.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs need some solid players up front. Jones may not be ready to start against Southeastern Conference foes yet, but he’ll have time to develop. If Joe Moorhead and his coaching staff are able to develop players the way that Mullen and his staff did, then Jones should be able to succeed in Starkville.

Next. Meet Charles Cross. dark
