Nick Pendley chose the Mississippi State football team in December as part of the early signing period. Joe Moorhead’s team needs Pendley.

Joe Moorhead is going to need players like Nick Pendley to continue to come to Starkville. The Mississippi State football team needs big, solid offensive linemen to pick the Bulldogs over a host of other schools interested in trying to sway Pendley away from MSU.

Plenty of teams from all over the country were interested in recruiting Nick Pendley. North Carolina, Mizzou, South Florida, Southern California, Troy, Miami, Indiana, Florida State, Colorado State, Air Force, and so many others extended offers to Pendley.

The Canton, Georgia native chose to sign with the Mississippi State Bulldogs instead. That says a lot about Marcus Johnson’s recruiting efforts and where Pendley sees the Bulldogs going in the future.

At 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, Nick Pendley appears to have the physical tools to help anchor and offensive line in the Southeastern Conference. He’s big and solid and could still bulk up or even slim down a little bit depending on where along the line Joe Moorhead and the Mississippi State football team want to place Pendley.

That size and possible versatility will be an asset for the Mississippi State Bulldogs down the road if they need to move Pendley around the line a bit. Pendley is one of several offensive line recruits for the 2019 Mississippi State recruiting class, but he’s got the potential to break out in the near future.
