Mississippi State basketball stays put in AP Top 25

After going 1-1 against teams ranked in the AP Top 25, the Mississippi State basketball team stayed in its same spot in the rankings.

It was an interesting week for the Mississippi State basketball team last week. The team opened the week with a blowout loss on the road against the Kentucky Wildcats, but finished the week with an impressive home victory over the Auburn Tigers.

With the combination of a win and a loss, both coming against ranked teams, it was hard to see if the Mississippi State basketball team would move up or down in the rankings. Today, we learned how the voters viewed the Bulldogs.

After going 1-1 on the week, the Mississippi State basketball team stayed put in the rankings. The Bulldogs were 22 this time last week in the rankings, and that is where they remain in this week’s edition of the AP Top 25 poll.

The Mississippi State basketball team has now evened up their record in conference play. They have two winnable games this week when they take on Alabama and Ole Miss. Complicating matters for the Bulldogs this week is the fact the Bulldogs play both teams on the road.

The Mississippi State basketball team is hoping to make it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2008-09 Men’s basketball season. Should the team continue to play at a level which keeps them ranked in the AP Top 25, then the team and fans should see those dreams come to fruition. Currently, the Bulldogs have three teams still on the schedule that are ranked in the Top 25. They’ll need to win some of those games if they want to climb in the rankings.
