Tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 pm in the Hump, the women’s Mississippi State basketball team will take on the Ole Miss Rebels in the first of two rivalry meetings this season.

We’re closing in on gameday for a huge rivalry game. Tomorrow afternoon, Vic Schaefer will lead his Mississippi State basketball team against Ole Miss as the Bulldogs host the Rebels in the Hump.

Coming into this game, given that this is a rivalry, it is important to note that Ole Miss hasn’t beaten the Mississippi State women’s basketball team since January 23rd, 2014. Mississippi State fell short in an overtime game up in Oxford.

Needless to say, it’s been quite some time since Schaefer’s team has fallen to Ole Miss. Here’s to hoping that this Mississippi State basketball streak of dominance over the Rebels will continue on.

And in all honesty, it should.

Mississippi State scores an average of 90.9 points per game. Ole Miss gets just 61.3. The Bulldogs hold their foes to 55.9 points per game. Ole Miss allows its opponents to get 65.4. For those counting at home, it’s typically better for your favorite team to score more than its opponents. That’s just not happening with Ole Miss so far this season.

So, in all honesty, the Mississippi State Bulldogs shouldn’t have any sort of issues when they host the Ole Miss Rebels tomorrow afternoon.

This is a rivalry and it, historically, hasn’t always been this one-sided in the Bulldogs’ favor. However, as of right now, Vic Schaefer and his Mississippi State basketball team control the rivalry at the moment and will have an opportunity to get yet another win over the Rebels.

Given that MSU hasn’t lost to Ole Miss in years, there’s really no chance that the Bulldogs should expect to lose tomorrow afternoon. MSU should win and the Bulldogs should win by a rather wide margin.
