Vic Schaefer’s Bulldogs will face off against Dawn Staley’s Gamecocks in what could possibly be an early battle for the SEC title.

Tomorrow night’s Mississippi State basketball game is a pretty big deal.

Vic Schaefer and his Mississippi State basketball team will get a tough challenge at home tomorrow evening. The South Carolina Gamecocks are coming to Starkville and look to take the lead in the race for the SEC title and put MSU at bay.

Of course, Mississippi State is looking to defend its conference championship. That might be somewhat difficult.

Both teams are ranked nationally and both teams lost a lot from last season. Also, both teams are currently a perfect 4-0 against conference foes, tying Mississippi State and South Carolina for the top spot in the SEC at the moment.

South Carolina didn’t have such a great start to its season. The Gamecocks started the year 4-4 through their first 8 games, which is astonishing given how good this team has been in recent seasons. Since then, however, Dawn Staley has led her team to eight-straight wins and now South Carolina is 12-4.

Vic Schaefer’s Mississippi State basketball team is currently on a six-game winning streak after losing for the first time this season on the road at Oregon. The Bulldogs have seen some significant improvement since falling to the Ducks and now MSU is aiming to put some distance between itself and its biggest conference rival in this sport.

Tomorrow night’s game will potentially be huge for both teams and also the sport itself. With this game being broadcasted on ESPN at 6:00 pm, it’ll be easily viewable for just about everyone across the country.

Whichever team wins this game will be in the leader’s spot and should be the favorite to come out on top of the Southeastern Conference. The Bulldogs should be thankful that this game is at home because they’ve got a great opportunity out in front of them here.
