Yeah, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the No. 7 Mississippi State basketball team came out on top of the Arkansas Razorbacks in Bud Walton Arena.
Last night, the Mississippi State basketball team stepped into Bud Walton Arena looking to take down the Arkansas Razorbacks on their home court. Once the game was done, the Bulldogs walked out of Bud Walton Arena victorious, coming away with a 93-69 victory.
All in all, that’s pretty good.
No, Arkansas isn’t the best team in the Southeastern Conference, but any time that Mississippi State can get their conference slate started with a 24-point win is a good time. So, last night was good.
In case you missed it from Maroon and White Nation:
- 2019 Mississippi State basketball: No. 7 Bulldogs beat down Arkansas Razorbacks– The Bulldogs won last night and they won big. The game wasn’t even close from the start and MSU was able to completely drive the Razorbacks into the ground in the third quarter.
- Mississippi State basketball players of the game: Jordan Danberry dashes past Razorbacks 2019– Jordan Danberry had a career game last night. There were other players that had remarkable impacts on the game as well, but Danberry did the most of any player on the court against the Razorbacks.
The “uhhhh, what?” news of the day:
For some inexplicable reason, The Dispatch fired the best beat writer in the state of Mississippi. Brett Hudson, a man who has been covering the Mississippi State basketball team (and football team and baseball team and, well, you get the idea) in the most comprehensive ways possible was let go last night. It doesn’t make much sense at least on the surface and it certainly sucks. Good luck to you, Brett. Thank you for covering MSU the way that you did.
Oh, and Kylin Hill doesn’t appreciate The Dispatch doing this, for what that’s worth.
The Dispatch is going to have a hard time replacing Hudson and I honestly feel bad for whoever is hired to replace one of the best to ever cover the Bulldogs. Their next beat writer will have a hard time living up to expectations and getting MSU fans to warm up to them.
Let’s do some good:
- Sarah Barnes’s Medical Expenses– Sarah Barnes, a Mississippi State fan, was hospitalized and needed surgeries. Now, she and her family are wrestling with hospital bills. As the Mississippi State family, we have a chance to help them. Let’s do that.
"As many of you know last week Sarah Barnes was hospitalized with severe abdominal pains. Since then she has been transferred from Baptist Golden Triangle to Birmingham for several surgeries to help address the issue of blood clots. She has been in ICU for a week, and Sarah had to have another surgery yesterday afternoon due to a clot forming and will remain in ICU for a few more days at least."
MSU stuff from around the internetz:
NCAA Basketball: Ranking all 353 D-1 head coaches for 2018-19– So, this isn’t directly about Mississippi State basketball, or MSU in general, but Ben Howland is ranked here and now that you know that it’s your job to find out where he’s ranked.
NCAA Basketball: Ranking all 353 D-I head coaches for 2018-19
A conclusive ranking of all 353 NCAA Basketball head coach from top to bottom, with analysis and explanations for every single coach.
Here, enjoy a song:
Well, technically this is a few different songs. Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane Stapleton headed on up to the NPR offices (studios?) to do a bit of a performance. The NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert series is a perfect thing that is worth checking out. And you should do just that.
That’s all we’ve got for today. Enjoy your lunch, enjoy these links. We’ll have more of both later. Y’all have a good Friday and Hail State!
