Mississippi State football: Five things Bulldogs must do to win Outback Bowl
By Ethan Lee
Properly utilize Aeris Williams and Kylin Hill
This Mississippi State football team’s strength on offense is undeniably its ability to run the ball. That’s the way that Dan Mullen built this team to go on offense and, well, Joe Moorhead hasn’t been able to make enough changes in the passing game to really shift away from that.
The Bulldogs run the ball well. They should do everything possible to not only get their quarterback comfortable on offense early in the game, but also do everything possible to get two of the offense’s best weapons utilized as often as possible.
That means that MSU should do what it can to get Aeris Williams and Kylin Hill the ball.
The Bulldogs’ running back duo has seen plenty of success this season, despite the fact that it could have easily had a better combined season than what it did.
Kylin Hill ran for 691 yards and 4 touchdowns on just 105 carries. Aeris Williams ran for 502 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 79 carries. That’s a total of 1193 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns together.
Oh, and the two caught 25 passes for 245 yards and 4 scores.
