The No. 17 Mississippi State basketball team is back at home in the Hump and the Bulldogs are ready to face the Wofford Terriers tonight.

Ben Howland and his No. 17 Mississippi State basketball team are set to return to action in the Hump after taking a few days to rest from MSU’s last game. When the Bulldogs last took the court, Mississippi State defeated the Cincinnati Bearcats 70-59 in Starkville, Mississippi.

Tonight, the Wofford Terriers are in town looking for a way to upset the Bulldogs. The Terriers come into tonight having won their last three games, all of which were at their home in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

With Wofford riding a three-game winning streak, the Bulldogs can’t afford to overlook tonight’s game. Both Mississippi State and Wofford will enter into tonight’s contest with nine wins on the season.

The only difference between the two teams’ records so far is that MSU is 9-1 while Wofford is 9-3.

This evening’s game will present Howland’s Mississippi State basketball team with the perfect opportunity to get a solid win against a decent team so that the Bulldogs can build even more momentum leading up into SEC play.

Wofford certainly has the potential to be a decent test for MSU.

To get the 2018-2019 season underway, the Terriers faced the North Carolina Tar Heels and fell short, losing 78-67. A couple of weeks later, Wofford went to Oklahoma and challenged the Sooners before ultimately falling 75-64.

Even though the Wofford Terriers lost both of those games, they still came out on top of South Carolina, beating the Gamecocks by 20 points on their own home court.

dark. Next. Meet MSU's signing class!

So, yes, this is a very winnable game for the Mississippi State basketball team, but the Bulldogs still can’t look past this match up. MSU must come out and assert itself this evening. Mississippi State is a more talented team and has everything it should need to dispatch of Wofford.
