Mississippi State basketball moves up one spot in AP Poll

The Mississippi State basketball team picked up a home win against a top 30 opponent on Saturday and moved up one spot in the AP poll.

The Mississippi State basketball team hosted the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday at Humphrey Coliseum. The Bulldogs picked up the win against the Bearcats and is arguably the best win on the schedule for the Bulldogs.

With only one game on the schedule, it was going to be difficult for the Mississippi State basketball team to move up in the AP poll this week. But they still managed to do just that, even if it was a small increase.

The Mississippi State basketball team was ranked 18thin the country last week. After thier big win on Saturday, the team did move up one spot in the AP Poll this week. This week’s AP poll has the Bulldogs ranked 17th as they get ready to take on the Wofford Terriers on Wedenesdayat the Humphrey Coliseum.

The Mississippi State basketball team still has plenty of opportunities to knock off some of these teams in the weeks to come. The Bulldogs will play a few teams currently ranked in the AP Top 25 when SEC play starts in January. Their game against Wofford this week will be no gimme

The Mississippi State basketball team is hoping to make it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2008-09 Men’s basketball season. Should the team continue to play at a level which keeps them ranked in the AP Top 25, then the team and fans should see those dreams come to fruition.
