Ole Miss is running a hilarious and embarrassing sale on tickets for the Egg Bowl. Mississippi State football fans should take advantage of that.

The 2018 Egg Bowl is almost upon us. This year, the Mississippi State football team will meet up with the Ole Miss Rebels on the night of Thanksgiving yet again. The Bulldogs and Rebels have met up on Thanksgiving Day in recent years and it’s become something of a trend again for the two teams to meet up then.

There’s plenty of discussions surrounding whether or not the rivalry game should be played on Turkey Day with a key argument against the game being played then is how it affects fan attendance.

Students often leave town and head on home for the holiday. They’re not the only ones that aren’t around at the time. Even though both fanbases are passionate about the rivalry and football in general, people tend to spend that holiday with their families. With fans often having other plans during Thanksgiving, they may not be able to make it to a game that they otherwise certainly would have attended.

But that argument doesn’t quite excuse what Ole Miss is doing to try and get fans to go to the 2018 Egg Bowl. What exactly is Ole Miss doing, you ask?

Ole Miss is running a BOGO deal on Egg Bowl tickets to try and get their fans to the game. My understanding is that this is something a store would normally do for shoes or school supplies or something like that.

But that’s not what’s happening here.

Ole Miss is doing this for football tickets, which is amazing and great and perfect for Mississippi State football fans.

While “buy one, get one” sales are normally something I associate with stores such as Payless ShoeSource, I do commend the Ole Miss athletic department for looking for ways to make money during a bad season.

I would also like to commend the Ole Miss athletic department for giving MSU fans an easy and affordable opportunity to flood into Vaught-Hemingway Stadium for this year’s rivalry game.

Next. A former Ole Miss commit is coming to MSU. dark

This is the perfect opportunity for Mississippi State football fans to go to the Egg Bowl without spending much money to do it. You buy one ticket, you can take a friend for free! They don’t allow cowbells there, but this is still a great chance for MSU fans to go see a very winnable game to close out the season. If you are able to, make sure to go and take as many of your Mississippi State loving friends as possible.
