If the former Clemson quarterback is actually interested in joining the Mississippi State football team, then Joe Moorhead should do what he can to make this move happen.

Year one of the Joe Moorhead era of Mississippi State football hasn’t gone according to plan. Because of that, and what might happen next season, the Bulldogs might need to make a drastic move at quarterback. MSU might just need Kelly Bryant.

When Moorhead arrived in Starkville, he inherited a team ready to win immediately. He then started talking about winning the Southeastern Conference and competing for championships on a national scale.

And yet, the Mississippi State football team sits at 6-4 this year and, despite Moorhead’s reputation as an offensive genius, the Bulldogs have struggled to score points against SEC teams. That recipe won’t win any SEC titles or national championships.

All of Moorhead’s struggles this season have come with one of the most talented rosters that the Bulldogs have ever had. He won’t have as strong of a roster next year.

Heading into next season, MSU is losing its starting quarterback and a ton of talent on defense. That defense has carried the Mississippi State football team this year and it’ll experience attrition next year. The Bulldogs will need to improve drastically on offense to overcome that.

If we’re being honest, MSU needs improvement on offense regardless of any changes happening on the defensive side of things.

That’s where Kelly Bryant enters into the picture.

He’s reportedly visiting MSU this weekend and the Bulldogs need to find a way to make him comfortable in Starkville.
