The Mississippi State football team is taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide. It’s game day, folks. Go ahead and get up. Here’s some news, notes, and a way to help a Bulldog fan in need.

It’s Mississippi State football gameday, folks!

MSU is across the state line in Tuscaloosa to face the Alabama Crimson Tide this afternoon. The Bulldogs are looking to somehow make history with a miraculous road upset of Nick Saban’s team and, well, I don’t think I can talk enough about how improbable of a win that this particular upset would be.

But hey, let’s not worry about that right now! The Bulldogs play this afternoon and let’s get ready for that game. We’ve got news and notes to help you with that. First, let’s look at a way we can help a Bulldog fan in need.

Let’s do some good.

Sarah Barnes’s Medical Expenses on GoFundMe– There’s a Mississippi State fan in need and we, as members of the Mississippi State community, can do something to help here. From the GoFundMe fundraiser:

"As many of you know last week Sarah Barnes was hospitalized with severe abdominal pains. Since then she has been transferred from Baptist Golden Triangle to Birmingham for several surgeries to help address the issue of blood clots. She has been in ICU for a week, and Sarah had to have another surgery yesterday afternoon due to a clot forming and will remain in ICU for a few more days at least."

This is a family that needs some help. We can do something, so we should do something. Even if you can’t help directly, share the page and their cause to see if we can make something good happen here. As of writing this, they have $1,440 and are looking to raise $4,000. Let’s help them reach that goal. Heck, let’s help them crush that goal. Come on, folks, let’s do some good here.

In case you missed it from Maroon and White Nation.

Enjoy a song before today’s game.

Everyone should take some time to lean back and enjoy quality music every now and then. There’s no real reason for you to listen to a remastered version of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” today. There’s no grand connection. It’s not a song about Alabama or Tuscaloosa or anything of the sort. But, you know, it’s a good song. It’s soothing. Enjoy it on a nice, quiet morning outside. Something tells me we’re all going to need some soothing after today’s game, so might as well get soothed now.
