Can the Mississippi State football team really hope to defeat the best team in the country? Will the Bulldogs even have a shot against the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend?

This weekend, Joe Moorhead will take the Mississippi State football team across state lines and over into Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It’s a trip that has never really gone well for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, but it’s a trip that Moorhead and MSU must make. The Bulldogs are hoping for a miracle when they enter into Bryant-Denny Stadium this weekend.

And, well, Mississippi State would need a miracle, or two, to be able to beat the Crimson Tide.

Alabama is so incredibly dominant this season that it doesn’t seem fair. Nick Saban’s team is playing at a level that doesn’t seem comparable to even the other teams that he has fielded in the past couple of seasons.

And so, while the Mississippi State football team almost knocked the Crimson Tide over last year at home, this game can’t honestly be seen as a continuation of what happened a season ago. And the biggest difference between this Alabama team and last year’s Alabama team is who is taking snaps at quarterback.

Jalen Hurts was very good for Alabama and had plenty of success with the Crimson Tide. He’d start at plenty of colleges across the country. However, Tua Tagovailoa is the best quarterback in the country at the moment and is a transcendent talent that can’t be topped.

Because of that, Alabama’s offense is almost unstoppable and the Crimson Tide’s defense is still as great as we’re used to seeing it.

So, what must the Mississippi State football team do to win this weekend?
