The Bulldogs’ offensive line held up well against a great defensive line.

Credit is going to a lot of places for Mississippi State’s win over Texas A&M. This was a complete and total team victory for the Mississippi State football team. What the Bulldogs did against A&M up front on the offensive line was incredibly noteworthy.

The offensive line did give up three sacks to the Aggies, but that’s really not that much in this sort of game. Routinely, on several key plays, the offensive line stood strong and gave Fitzgerald time on third-and-long, allowing Fitz to get the pass to his intended receiver for a first down.

The Mississippi State football team converted 7 of 12 third downs against Texas A&M. While the Bulldogs didn’t run the ball for a ton of yards, MSU gained 143 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries. That’s 4.6 yards per carry for an aspect of the offense that was used as a compliment for the passing game.
