Osirus Mitchell

If the Bulldogs are going to continue to try and stretch the field, then Osirus Mitchell is the wide receiver to do just that. The 6-5 and 210 pound sophomore wide receiver has shown that he can be a great deep threat asset for the Mississippi State football team. Earlier this year, he caught two wide open passes from Keytaon Thompson and took them for touchdowns.

Unfortunately, Mitchell has also shown that he’s still a young receiver. Against Florida last week, Mitchell had what would’ve been a monumental touchdown catch in his hands as he was dashing for the end zone. He ended up dropping that pass.

Everyone who saw the play cringed and shuddered in both disbelief and frustration. Dropped passes have plagued the Mississippi State Bulldogs for far too long now. This was one that would put MSU up on Florida and change the entire game. It was one of the best throws that Nick Fitzgerald has made at State.

But it wasn’t completed. And that is that. Now, Mitchell must move on from that play. He can’t let it haunt him. Instead, he must move forward and make plays when called to do so in the future. That could very well be this game against Auburn.
