Mississippi State football vs Auburn Tigers preview and predictions
By Ethan Lee
How have the Auburn Tigers played so far?
The Auburn Tigers are the 8th ranked team in the country and yet, there’s still plenty of things for fans of the Tigers, and the Tigers themselves, to be unhappy with. Auburn’s defense has been bulldozing through its opposition all season, but Gus Malzahn’s offense has yet to show much of a pulse this year.
Through the first month of the 2018 college football season, the Auburn Tigers defense is holding its foes to just under 305 total yards of offense per game. Meanwhile, the Tigers offense is barely scraping up 376 total yards of offense per game.
Jarrett Stidham hasn’t been great. The Tigers running game has been nonexistent. There’s questions on Auburn’s offensive line. That, in theory, gives the Mississippi State football team some breathing room. The Bulldogs will just need to find a way to score themselves.
While Auburn’s defense is playing well, the offense has certainly struggled. That’s something that MSU fans are all too familiar with this season as well.
