Keep an eye on these storylines as the Mississippi State football team battles the No. 8 Auburn Tigers this weekend.

Things haven’t been going all that well for the Mississippi State football team in the past few weeks. The Bulldogs have lost two games in a row to foes from the SEC East and it’s been in rather frustrating and embarrassing fashion. Mississippi State’s once prolific offense has been ground to a halt by both the Florida Gators and the Kentucky Wildcats.

Now, the No. 8 Auburn Tigers are coming to play in Davis Wade Stadium. Can we really expect that the Bulldogs’ offense will play significantly better this weekend?

MSU certainly has its work cut out for it this Saturday. The Bulldogs are going to have to play notably better if they even want to remain in this game against the 8th ranked team in the country.

Thankfully, Auburn has appeared to be vulnerable in recent weeks. Unfortunately, those vulnerabilities have really only shown up on the offensive side of the ball. It’d be great for Mississippi State if Auburn seemed weak on defense.

There’s several storylines that are going to be discussed in regards to this game this weekend. It’s been 10 seasons since the infamous 3-2 game happened. And, well, State is currently 3-2 on the season. Both teams are sputtering on offense and both had considerable amounts of hype and notoriety in the offseason.

Now, Mississippi State is just looking for wins and Auburn is trying to find a pulse on offense. The two teams play this Saturday evening.

Keep an eye on these storylines when the Bulldogs meet up with the Tigers.
