This year feels like it has now been wasted due to the Bulldogs’ two conference losses

There’s still plenty of season left. The Mississippi State Bulldogs aren’t even halfway through the year. There’s big opportunities up ahead for MSU to come out, upset some foes, and redeem itself after the last two weeks.

But the Bulldogs shouldn’t have to redeem themselves this year. 2018 was supposed to be a truly special season for Mississippi State football. Everything was supposed to be simple and easy. The Bulldogs were supposed to win at a high level and compete against the best in the SEC.

And yet, Mississippi State lost to Florida and Kentucky in embarrassing fashion in back to back weeks.

This Mississippi State football team is full of upperclassmen and has the talent necessary to battle the best teams in the conference. At least, it was supposed to have the talent to do that. It doesn’t necessarily matter how talented a particular team is if it fails to compete week in and week out.

Yes, there’s more season up ahead. However, that doesn’t seem like such a good thin in this moment.
