Mississippi State’s offensive line couldn’t provide Nick Fitzgerald any time to throw

Todd Grantham and the Florida Gators continued to attack Mississippi State’s offensive line and there was seemingly little that the Bulldogs could do to combat that. The Mississippi State football team was beat at the line of scrimmage repeatedly and that took a toll on Nick Fitzgerald.

The offensive line wasn’t totally at fault for this, but Fitzgerald was sacked a half dozen times tonight. A lot of that falls on the offensive line’s collective shoulders for not guarding its quarterback better.

Yes, there are plenty of issues with Fitzgerald’s accuracy. Yes, there were several drops by the wide receivers tonight. However, those are far from being the only issues that the Mississippi State football team has when it comes to throwing the ball.

The offensive line isn’t blocking. It doesn’t necessarily matter who is throwing and catching the ball if your offensive line isn’t blocking.
