Dan Mullen is doing fairly well in year one at Florida

All things considered, Mullen is doing a pretty good job at Florida this season. No, the Gators aren’t going to win, or even compete, for a championship this season. Yes, that’s ultimately what Mullen was hired by Florida to do. And yes, Florida did lose to Kentucky earlier this year, ending a winning streak that went back for over three decades.

Still, Mullen is starting to shape the Florida Gators into the team that he wants them to be. So far through four games, the Gators are beating the teams that they should, competing fairly well in their lone loss, and are scoring quite a few points.

Things aren’t where Mullen or Gator fans want them to be. Still, things are going well.

And that’s yet another huge reason why the Mississippi State football team must win this weekend. The Bulldogs’ loss to Kentucky was quite the gut check for Joe Moorhead and this fanbase. MSU can’t afford another emotional loss like that.

For this program to keep moving forward and for Moorhead to establish a “championship standard,” it’s incredibly crucial that State wins against its former coach.
