How does Florida’s offense look this season?

So far, on the surface, Florida’s offense appears to be a fairly potent one. The Gators have scored at least 47 points in three of their four games. That’s pretty good, right?

Well, kinda.

Florida is averaging 383 total yards of offense per game. Their opponents that they’ve scored so highly on? Charleston Southern, Colorado State, and Tennessee. None of these foes are necessarily defensive stalwarts.

Feleipe Franks is the leading passer for the Gators. He’s completed 52.6 percent of his passes for 742 yards and 12 touchdowns against a couple of interceptions. If he has some time, it’s possible that Franks could generate some yardage against a defense. Mississippi State’s defensive line likely won’t give him much time.

The Gators don’t have a go-to running back at the moment as they’ve taken something of a rushing attack by committee approach. That tactic has yielded four different players having at least 100 rushing yards.

There’s a lot of things that Mullen likely wants to do with his offense. He may not be able to do them this season.
