Mississippi State football opponent preview: Florida Gators
By Ethan Lee
The No. 23 Mississippi State football team is welcoming Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators back to Starkville
There’s a group of familiar faces that will be back in Starkville, Mississippi this weekend. The No. 23 Mississippi State football team will get to face off against the vast majority of its former coaching staff as the Florida Gators come to town.
Dan Mullen and Scott Stricklin will be arriving in Mississippi with a brand new team behind them. That team is rather determined to take down the Mississippi State Bulldogs and move forward in the SEC East standings.
Florida is coming into this game with a ton to prove to both itself and the rest of the Southeastern Conference. Mississippi State is coming into this game fresh off of a frustrating loss to Kentucky looking for redemption and a punching bag to take its anger out on.
This game should be a rather interesting one.
It’s not exactly clear which Mississippi State football team we’ll see in this matchup. The Bulldogs can not afford for their emotions to take over and cause MSU to make mistakes as we’ve seen happen on the road against both Kansas State and Kentucky. Mississippi State is playing an opponent that will do everything it can to get inside the Bulldogs heads.
This is the team that Mullen left Starkville for.
Mississippi State must be careful in this game. The Bulldogs can’t afford to lose another SEC matchup right now. Not when there’s even tougher SEC foes on the horizon.
Let’s take a look at this game and get ready for the Bulldogs and the Gators.
