After week four, the Mississippi State football team dropped down in the most recent Amway Coaches Poll

The Mississippi State football team has fallen down in both major college football polls. Before the Bulldogs crumbled on the road in Lexington, Kentucky, the Mississippi State football team sat at No. 14 in the Amway Coaches Poll. And now, after the Bulldogs crumbled on the road in Lexington, Kentucky, the Mississippi State football team sits at No. 19 in the Amway Coaches Poll.

The drop could have honestly been worse. In the AP poll, the Bulldogs plummeted all the way from No. 14 to No. 23.

That was pretty bad.

After four weeks of college football, here’s how the 2018 Amway Coaches Poll looks:

  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. Georgia
  4. Ohio State
  5. Oklahoma
  6. LSU
  7. Stanford
  8. Notre Dame
  9. Penn State
  10. Auburn
  11. Washington
  12. West Virginia
  13. Wisconsin
  14. Central Florida
  15. Michigan
  16. Miami
  17. Kentucky
  18. Michigan State
  19. Mississippi State
  20. Oregon
  21. Oklahoma State
  22. Texas
  23. Duke
  24. Virginia Tech
  25. Boise State

All things considered, this is not a bad spot for the Mississippi State football team to currently sit. The Bulldogs didn’t do themselves any favors in terms of national respect this past Saturday when they lost to Kentucky by three touchdowns.

MSU dropped in both polls and rightfully so.

However, at the moment, the Mississippi State Bulldogs, at least in the Amway Coaches Poll, didn’t really fall all that far. Dropping down to No. 19 isn’t too bad considering the circumstances and the reasons for MSU to drop quite a bit. A couple of wins for MSU gets the Bulldogs moving right back up in this ranking. And, well, it’d move the Bulldogs right back up in the AP poll too.

It’s a bummer that the Mississippi State football team fell in the Amway Coaches Poll. It’s unfortunate that the Bulldogs are in this situation. However, MSU will have plenty of chances moving forward to move right back up. It starts this weekend with Florida.
