That first quarter was awful to watch and was plagued by penalties

Hooooo boy was that first quarter awful for the Mississippi State football team. The Bulldogs had a chance to make some noise against the Wildcats in their own stadium, but couldn’t do anything at all due to issues related to penalties and execution.

It seemed like just about every offensive drive was stalled shortly after a penalty by the Bulldogs. MSU’s defense wasn’t totally clean either. In the first quarter alone, Mississippi State was tagged with four penalties and then had 34 penalty yards. That sloppy play slowed MSU considerably.

The Bulldogs didn’t really get the offense moving until the end of the first quarter. MSU must play cleaner football moving forward.
