Get prepared for the Mississippi State football game against the Kentucky Wildcats tonight

It’s game day, folks! The Mississippi State football team is up in Lexington, Kentucky and will face the Wildcats tonight. We’ve got news, notes, and other stuff pertaining to tonight’s Mississippi State football game right here to help you get ready for it.

But before we do that, let’s talk about how we can help some folks that need it.

Let’s do some good

We have an opportunity to help out those impacted by Hurricane Florence. As a Houstonian, I am more than familiar with the horrific effects of flooding and hurricanes. I know that Mississippians are certainly empathetic to those that are hurting here as well. Interested in doing something positive? Here’s how you can help:

  • MSU Student Relief Fund– Mississippi State students that are personally impacted by this storm have a way to get some help through private donations here. There’s plenty of Bulldogs that come to Starkville from the areas impacted by this storm. This fund can help them out.
  • North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund– If you’re looking to donate to a fund that is set up and aimed at meeting the needs of those impacted by storms in North Carolina, here’s a link on the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund.
  • Diaper Bank of North Carolina– Obviously, families with young children impacted by this storm are going to need the necessary supplies to take care of those children. Diapers are a necessity. The Diaper Bank of North Carolina can meet that need.
  • Foundation for the Carolinas– The Foundation for the Carolinas has been around since the late 1950’s and has established a fund to help with relief efforts related to Hurricane Florence.
  • Loaves & Fishes– Loaves & Fishes aims to provide food and groceries to those in need in their community. They’re always accepting donations, but right now they’re looking at tackling the need that has been created by Hurricane Florence.
  • Coastal Animal Shelter– Something that shouldn’t go unnoticed in donations is the need of animal shelters. Many are going to be full to the brim with animals that were abandoned by those evacuating the storm. They’re going to need some assistance.

And of course, there are so many other places to donate, but this is a good start. If you’re not able to donate right now, spread the word, volunteer, and find other ways to help if you feel the need to do so.
